YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Congrats and Good Luck to Our 8th Graders!

The sun was out this week to shine on our promoted 8th graders. Students were able to celebrate themselves at this outdoor event, with carnival snacks, yearbook and autograph signing, free book pick-up, photo booth, teacher dunk tank, and a free t-shirt. And of course, pick up their 6th grade time capsule!

Huge thanks to parents Julie Barnett, Dana Stark and the entire planning team for sending these kids off in style. This event was made possible by our generous CPMS PTC donors.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Remote Learning Science & Art Kits

Screen Shot 2020-09-30 at 1.09.51 PM.png

PTC funds continue to buoy Cedar Park students. PTC funds were used to help purchase the supplies for 900+ science kits (for every student) and 400+ art kits (for every art student) this semester.

The newly proposed 2020-21 budget will increase these line items, ensuring another round of supplies will be available (if need be) for second semester. This revised budget is up for approval at tonight’s PTC Community Meeting.

Huge thanks to last year's 5K donors that have made these early transactions possible. Look for more info soon regarding this year's fundraising campaign.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: New Cedar Park Sign

image000000.jpg

Even though students will begin this school year at home, our community’s fundraising effort from last school year continues to pay off. A new Cedar Park sign was installed on-site this summer, thanks to the joint effort of the Cedar Park PTC and our Cedar Park admins. The Cedar Park PTC contributed $5000 toward this new sign rebuild, an effort two years in the making. The previous sign was removed in 2017 due to rotting wood.

Check out our new sign, ready and waiting for our students and staff to return to school. This successful project was funded by the Cedar Park 5K and our generous community donors.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Outdoor Picnic Tables

These five beautiful outdoor picnic tables were one of the last 5K expenditures to be realized before this year’s school closure. Their cost of $3475 was taken out of the School-Wide Discretionary budget.

Sadly, they won’t be getting much traction this school year, but they will be ready and waiting to durably aid in any future outdoor lunchtimes. THANK YOU to every 5K donor who made this much-needed outdoor upgrade a reality.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Student Socials Provide Awesome Memories

Cedar Park's recent Student Socials were another smashing success. THANK YOU to the inspired and creative planning team of BSD staff, the many community volunteers who braved the madness, and to all our 5K donors who made this experience possible.

Students were able to enjoy a DJ, snack shack, various games and activities, a caricature artist, face painters, and a photo booth. The next social is scheduled for the last day of the school year, Friday, 6/12.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: Library Upgrades Continue

Screen Shot 2020-02-10 at 5.52.24 PM.png

Cedar Park students have some new digs to sink into, thanks to the generous support of our parent community & PTC. The latests round of improvements arrived last month, with a brand-new seating alcove in the far corner for all CPMS students to enjoy.

CPMS LMA, Debbie Hernandez, shares that students "all love it" and the new couch, loveseat, chair & ottoman have already become popular. The former couch situation was... beyond repair, so this furniture is a welcome and durable addition.

These is the second year of continued library upgrades, funded by your generous 5K donations. Last year's effort included a modular couch and new bistro tables.

YOUR MONEY AT WORK: PACK Store Brings Fun & Focus to Cedar Park Students

Screen+Shot+2020-01-20+at+3.10.43+PM.jpg

Huge thanks to Cedar Park parents, Pam Ross & Nancy McCartney, for reviving the Cedar Park PACK Store! These motivated women stepped up last fall to provide leadership for a long-time CPMS tradition that offers fun & prizes to our motivated students.

The PACK store is a school-wide incentive program, encouraging Perseverance, Acceptance, Courage, and Knowledge. Teachers reward students with tokens for participation, consideration, or any other positive action. Students use those tokens to purchase some awesome prizes at the PACK Store, which is open during designated lunch hours. Additionally, pop-up pizza or donut days are offered, where students can cash in their hoarded tokens.

This entire program is funded, organized, and staffed by the PTC and made possible by your 5K donation.
