The annual CPMS Staff Appreciation Cookie Exchange will take place on Wednesday, 12/20.   Cedar Park teachers and staff are given decorative boxes to take home their favorites from this historically impressive cookie buffet.

Volunteers are needed to provide a dozen homemade or store-bought cookies.  All cookies must be at the school by 10am on Wednesday, 12/20.  Sign-up now to provide a dozen cookies for our hard-working CPMS staff.

PTC-sponsored PACK Store Offers a Variety of Prizes

Cedar Park's PACK store (formerly the PBIS store) is open for business every other Thursday during students' lunch periods, allowing students to turn in their paper PACK tickets (earned from teachers) and choose from a variety of prizes, including tic tacs, pens, socks, games, and other novelty items.

This PTC-sponsored store is a part of CPMS's Positive Behavior Intervention System.  Students earn tickets from teachers and staff by demonstrating behaviors that represent the CPMS pillars:  Perseverance, Acceptance, Courage, Knowledge.

Students can save these tickets for larger prizes, spend as they earn them, or add them to the PACK raffle, which offers fun drawings for gift cards and school swag.

Parents are always needed to operate the PACK store.  Login to myvolunteerpage.com, Opportunities—> School Support —> PACK store to see the available shifts. Any questions can be directed to CPMS's Director of Volunteers, Angela Redmon.

Earned PACK tickets decorate the cafeteria windows.

This Thursday, 12/7, CPMS will be hosting a 5th Grade informational evening from 6-7pm.  Self-guided tours will be available until 7:30pm.

Parents and their 5th grade students are invited to learn about Cedar Park as a comprehensive middle school, MYP, and all the programs that make our school THE BEST!

Parents are welcome to bring their 5th graders but it is not expected or required.

CPMS Begins Staggered Release

Cedar Park has a shorter parking lot in the front of the school and a long, narrow one along the side. The front parking lot became too small for the number of families wanting to pick up their students from school. This clogged Park Way, an arterial, causing safety problems for families, neighbors, busses, and others using the road.

The district’s Safety Team examined the procedure and recommended staggered release times for family vehicle pick-up. The team determined the safety plan will be to use the long back lot for this purpose. The most significant change is that the parking lot will be closed to cars from 3:35-4:00pm.

Safety for all of our students, parents, and supervising duty staff is critically important. We appreciate your support as we adjust to this new routine.

Walkers/Bikers/Bus Riders

Released at dismissal.

Early Parent Pickup (prior to 3:35pm)

If parent pick-up and leaving school early is necessary, the family must park and walk to meet student at front door prior to 3:35. Leaving early should be reserved for appointments and emergencies only, and is not acceptable for daily practice.

Regular Parent Car Pickup (4pm)

After the buses leave, approximately 10 minutes after dismissal (4pm), parents may enter the lot, drive around to the back lot, and pick up students at south end of side lot outside of C Hall. Students who are picked up by parents will be waiting at that exit.

Questions can be directed to Shannon Anderson.
