CEDAR PARK 5K

REad On to learn about how you can support our 23-24 5K…

the 5K is Cedar Park PTC's Only major fundraiser

The annual Cedar Park Middle School 5K is a school-wide fall event that promotes fun and fitness, while raising funds for the incredible programs and events provided by the PTC.  This year's event is scheduled for October 12th.

Students will solicit pledges/donations, then run, jog, dance or walk their way to the finish line. The money raised supports programs that directly enrich students' education and impact their positive student experience.

The 5K will focus on boosting PARTICIPATION, meaning ANY donation, from $1 to $1000. Prizes will be given to advisory classes at each grade level with (1) the most students enrolled in the PledgeStar donation website and (2) those with the most students who have received any dollar amount!

Where does the money go?

This 5K does all the heavy lifting– bulking up the library, supplementing our after-school clubs, providing transportation for enriching field trips, and most importantly, filling in those gaps where the regular school budget just ain’t cutting it.

Here are just SOME tangible examples purchased with PTC funds in the past:

  • Microscopes for science classsrooms

  • New, hip furniture for the library

  • Take-home art & science kits for CDL

  • After-school club support

  • Lunch recess equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, etc.)

  • All-school socials & 8th Grade Send-off

  • Bus transportation for OSU Field Trip for 8th graders & 7th grade trip to OMSI

  • Art literacy supplies

  • Additional OBOB books & literacy support

  • PACK store supplies

  • Staff appreciation events

  • Clay reconstitution machine for the Art Department

How does it work?

On the day of the event, each class will run, jog, or walk a 5K around CPMS during their PE class.

Students and teachers will be encouraged to dress up, the wilder the better, to add some cheer to the event.
